Fresh Air

from rave songs by Shipping And Handling

/

lyrics

How many memories fit in this box and why do you have so many goddamn socks. I wish it wasn't taboo to set fire to all these things that belong to you.

Maybe someday down the road, all these notes, I can show them to you and together we can laugh about us being so young and rash but for now, I've got these words:

"One day you will find that nothing quite compares to the sounds that I was making when I was still fresh air. I was drifting through your lungs. I was blowing through your hair. Oh no, you will never get that back."

Maybe in time all these rhymes will make me look so foolish. And if that time comes, hopefully it does, I will not regret having ever said:

"Although you don't believe me, it's absolutely true that all the sounds I made were there because of you. You were crawling up my spine. You were getting in my air. Oh no, I will never get this back. Oh no, I will never get that."
